Ways Your Eco-Access Donation Makes an Impact

Family Memberships

Eco-Access funds can go toward a membership, giving other families the chance to connect to nature. Membership covers all individuals that reside in the same household; may include nanny or caregiver.

Please note: WW receives names of interested families from local partners and WW will pair the family with the membership.

The recipient of a donated membership will receive the following:

  • Free admission to Wesselman Woods Nature Center, Preserve, Nature Playscape, and Howell Wetlands

  • Reciprocal membership privileges at fellow ANCA Nature Centers across the U.S.

  • 10% off merchandise

  • Old-Growth Gazette email newsletter delivered to your inbox

  • Discounts and early access to special events and programs

  • Exclusive “Wesselman Woods Member” sticker

Campers

When we get a request from a parent who needs financial aid to send their little one to camp, we can turn to the Eco-Access fund for sponsorship!

Camp sponsorship covers one child’s admission to one full week of our summer camps. These camps create experiences for children to explore the largest urban old-growth forest. Our camps are educationally and experientially impactful - you will be planting the seeds for a child’s imagination and environmental interests to flourish and grow.

Please note:

  • WW receives names of interested families from local partners and WW will pair the child to the camp sponsorship.

  • Camp schedules can be found on the Education webpage.

  • A sponsorship does not include transportation.

Classroom Sponsorship

We want to ensure everyone has the opportunity to explore this rare ecosystem. Teachers can request funds from the Eco-Access Initiative to pay for an educational program.  At Wesselman Woods, we pledge to create and maintain an environment that respects diverse traditions, primary language abilities, and the physical or emotional needs of our participants.

Please note: WW receives names of interested classrooms from local partners and WW will pair the class with the sponsorship.

Sponsored classrooms receive:

  • 2-hour education program at Wesselman Woods or Howell Wetlands.

  • Knowledge about the local environment and ecosystems.

  • Information geared towards current curriculum in the classroom.

  • Meet and greet with animal ambassadors.

Free Days

Wesselman Woods is a living artifact - our priority is to protect this space at all costs. Given the rarity and importance of this ecosystem, we provide FREE days for our constituents so we can share this ecological treasure.

With enough Eco-Access funding, we can open our gates for free to the public. If you are interested in sponsoring one free day or multiple free days at Wesselman Woods, we would love to collaborate with you.

Guests enjoy access to:

  • 200 acres of old-growth forest (over 4 miles of hiking trails)

  • Native animal species in our residence and the chance to view native flora and fauna in the forest

  • Field guides specific to our area

  • The 5-acre Welborn Baptist Foundation Nature Playscape (the largest in the United States!)

Sponsors receive:

  • Recognition on printed materials (posters, flyers, signage inside and outside of the Nature Center)

  • Recognition in our e-newsletter, website, and social media

  • Placement on community calendars

  • The option to send your company’s representatives to the Nature Preserve on your day(s) to speak with guests. Wesselman Woods will provide two chairs, an 8-foot table, and a 10x10’ tent. Sponsoring company should provide any promotional materials or giveaways.

All donated sponsorships are tax-deductible.
