GIVING
Wesselman Woods impacts over 30,000 people a year. Your continued support makes that possible!
Let us take a moment to express our sincere appreciation for your support to transform Wesselman Woods over the years. Your contributions, no matter the size, have played a pivotal role in the successes we've achieved together. This is your forest! You have seen what is possible when we work together to move the needle forward…
Your continued support is essential to keep this momentum going.
Help us reach $60,000!
Our goal is to raise $60,000 by the end of 2024 and you can help make it happen, thanks to our generous $30,000 match. When you donate this giving season…
$50 becomes $100. $100 becomes $200. $250 becomes $500.
Everything that you do at Wesselman Woods matters to future generations. Now is the time to radically increase your environmental and ecological presence. It matters to you, to the planet, and to everyone on it, this year, next year, in 10 years, and beyond.
Your gift is critical as you help us continue supporting and developing this ecosystem to be enjoyed for generations to come.
Together, we have the opportunity to combat climate change at the local level by increasing education, conservation, and research at Wesselman Woods.
OTHER WAYS TO GIVE
Consider a unique way to support our mission: by giving from your assets. Donations of stocks, bonds, or other assets can provide significant benefits to both you and our organization.
Tax Benefits: Donating appreciated assets can help you avoid capital gains taxes and receive a charitable deduction.
Impact: Asset donations can significantly amplify your support of our mission to protect this ancient forest and educate the public on the importance of nature.
Ease: The process is straightforward, and we are here to assist you every step of the way.
Examples of Donating from Assets
Donate Appreciated Investments: Donating appreciated stocks, bonds, or funds can be more tax-efficient than giving cash. You can generally deduct a portion of the asset’s fair market value and avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs): If you are age 70½ or older, you can make a QCD directly from your IRA to a qualified charity. The distribution is excluded from your taxable income and it counts toward your required minimum distribution (RMD).
Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs): A DAF allows you to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to charities over time.
Employer Matching Programs: Many companies offer matching gift programs, where they match the charitable donations made by employees. This can double or your donation’s impact.
Your generosity can make a lasting difference!
