Arbor Day 2023

Free Tree Giveaway and Free Admission to Wesselman Woods!

Keep Evansville Beautiful (KEB) is continuing their tradition of giving away free trees to the community this year!

Native and non-invasive trees sourced from Bur Oak Tree Service and Nursery will be given away at the Wesselman Park Shelter House #1, on the way to Wesselman Woods, on Friday, April 28, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., while trees last.

This event is a partnership between KEB, the Evansville Department of Urban Forestry, CenterPoint Energy, Indiana811, On the Spot Utility Resources LLC, and Wesselman Woods.

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke will kick off Arbor Day with remarks at 11 a.m. followed by remarks from KEB. In honor of Arbor Day, all guests will receive free admission to the 200-acre nature preserve which is the largest urban, old-growth forest in the United States.
