Join us for Nature’s Greatest Sight: the 2024 Total Eclipse!

Monday, April 8, 2024 beginning at 11 AM

Event Mission: To bring together diverse communities in a safe space to enjoy nature's greatest sight as well as food, performances, and music. Commune with the eclipse; enjoy as one.

Located on the former “Par 3” golf course in Wesselman Park

  • Festival begins at 11 AM

  • Hard stop on all festival activities at 1:45 PM to prepare for 2:00 PM total eclipse

  • Partial phase of the eclipse will last about an hour and the total eclipse will last 3-4 minutes.

You are invited to witness the total solar eclipse happening on Monday, April 8th, 2024 at the former “Par 3” Golf Course in Wesselman Park. The festival will begin at 11 AM and it will feature activities, musical performances, food trucks, and more!

Come Prepared!

Check out our Eclipse Do's and Don'ts beforehand, so you have the best festival experience!

DON'T...

  • Don't bring firearms. 

  • Don't bring alcohol.

  • Don't bring fireworks or celebration poppers.

  • Don't bring any balloons or confetti.

  • And please don't leave trash on the ground!

Police officers will be on-site to enforce these rules.

DO...

  • Pack a pair of eclipse glasses, just in case.

    • There will be limited numbers of free glasses available at the event on a first-come, first-served basis. So, better to be prepared! Remember: You watch the total solar eclipse at your own risk.

  • Bring your lawn chairs or a picnic blanket!

  • Pack some sunscreen.

    • The weather is looking better and better. Be sure to protect your skin!

  • Pack a lunch OR plan to purchase a delicious lunch from one of our local food vendors (listed below).

  • Know that Internet signal and cell phone strength may be shaky!

    • With so many extra people in town and so many people gathered in one place, there is a good chance the Internet will not be as reliable.

    • Come prepared to make all purchases with cash, just in case. 

  • Arrive early to secure a parking space in the former Roberts Stadium parking lot.

    • The Boeke Road entrance to Wesselman Park parking will be CLOSED.

    • The limited parking spaces inside the park are reserved for those with handicap permits as well as staff, volunteers, entertainment, and food trucks.

  • Know where to go for parking. See the parking section below!

  • Whatever you pack in, please pack it out  – let's leave the area as beautiful as we found it.

    • Zero Waste Evansville will be on site to assist with recycling efforts.

Parking

The Boeke Road entrance to Wesselman Park parking will be CLOSED with limited space inside the park reserved for those with handicap permits as well as staff, volunteers, entertainment, and food trucks. Others can find parking at the former Roberts Stadium parking lot (next to the EVSC Soccer Complex) is accessible by turning onto East Franklin Street (behind Swonder Ice Arena). 

If you are going NORTH on Boeke (i.e. away from the Lloyd Expressway):

  • Go past the Swonder Ice Arena parking lot.

  • Turn RIGHT on E. Franklin Street - you will see a Wandering Owl sign.

  • Stay straight until you see the second Wandering Owl banner and entrance to the event.

If you are going SOUTH on Boeke (i.e. toward the Lloyd Expressway):

  • Go past Wesselman Park entrance.

  • Turn LEFT on E. Franklin Street. - you will see a Wandering Owl sign.

  • Stay straight until you see the second Wandering Owl banner and entrance to the event.
